Digital TV Switch Over

ONCHAN DISTRICT COMMISSIONERS

Wish to remind residents that the switch over to digital television in Onchan takes place this year.  On 18th June 2009 BBC2 analogue television (what is used at the moment) is switched off and there will be a need to re-tune your digital equipment to pick up the available channels.

On 16th July 2009 stage two comes into force with the remaining channels going off and again re-tuning will be necessary in order to receive the available channels.  Initially the Island will be tuned into Border TV which will merge with Tyne Tees TV.  When Granada goes digital a little while later the island is due to switch to Granada from Border which should provide local coverage in the news.

Details of the digital switch over is being provided to commissioners' tenants. All houses in Onchan have previously been provided with leaflets on the change over and a reminder campaign will take place  nearer the time but anyone requiring information should click on www.digitaluk.co.uk
