ONCHAN DISTRICT COMMISSIONERS
PRESS RELEASE
It is with regret that the Onchan District Commissioners have to announce
the resignation of the Clerk to the Authority, Mr Mark Williams.
Mark has decided that he is to leave the employ of the Authority at
the end of September 2006, having worked for the Authority since August
1993, firstly as Deputy Clerk but in the last year, in the position of
Clerk.
In a brief statement, Mr Williams has confirmed the submission of his
resignation and that he is to leave after the expiry of three months
notice. Reasons for his decision have not been disclosed. He thanked
the Board Members for the opportunity to work with them during thirteen
enjoyable years which he will reflect upon with great affection and wished
the Members of the Board well for the future. He particularly thanked
his colleagues, the staff of the Authority, both past and present, for
their support and friendship over the years.
Mr Derek Crellin, Chairman of the Onchan District Commissioners, stated:-
“Mark has tendered his resignation from the position of Clerk to
the Authority. The letter was received on Monday and conveyed to the Board
that evening when Members were both surprised and saddened by the news.
The resignation was reluctantly accepted and whilst it is regretted by
the Board and his leaving will be a loss to the Authority and the residents
of Onchan, he does leave the Authority with the best wishes of the Members
for the future.”
