History of Onchan -
The Queen's Golden Jubilee 2002

Also on 4th July a seven-a-side under 8s football competition was held in Onchan Stadium.

It was organised by Brian Callow of Whitebridge Road.

The following teams were entered:

• St Johns United All Stars,
• Laxey Miners,
• Pulrose United,
• St Georges AFC under 8s,
• Snaefell Dynamos,
• Michael United,
• Laxey Poachers,
• Onchan Beavers Team A and Team B.

Kick off was at 10am with two matches taking place at the same time across the width of the Stadium football pitch.

There was a special trophy for the winning team and the runners up.

Medals on ribbons were also provided for each member of these two teams including the substitutes.

All players were provided with a food voucher and a special gift was presented also by the Board Chairman to Mr Callow and two referees.
