Jubilee Mugs for Onchan Schoolchildren

Back to Golden Jubilee Celebrations in Onchan

Each child at Onchan Primary School and Ashley Hill School received a special “Jubilee Mug” from the commissioners. The china mugs have a portrait of H.M. the Queen on the front, the Royal Cipher on the reverse and on the side the crest of Onchan District Commissioners.

A limited number of these collectors items were then on sale at the Commissioners’ Office but soon sold out.

Chairman of Onchan District Commissioners, Terry Black, accompanied by the Chairman of the Leisure and Amenities Commit Committee, Gordon Astill attended at Onchan School at the end of May where they presented mugs to a selection of children and the balance were distributed in class.
