| On 4th July a series of Golden
Jubilee parties were held in Onchan. These were organised by the
residents of the areas in question, Sea View Road, Wentworth Close
and Buttermere Drive.
The commissioners assisted by arranging the official road closing orders, providing the barriers and insurance. In each of these areas the residents arranged their own entertainment and a visit was made by Commissioners’ Chairman Terry Black to each party as it progressed. The weather managed to stay fine for the greater part of the day and each party passed off with great enjoyment by all who took part.
