A Tour of Onchan 2

Round The Edges.

The purpose of this tour is to provide the stranger to Onchan with some background information and for the Onchan resident to provide a greater knowledge of the development of their place of residence and show that not all of Onchan appeared in the 1970s.

The first tour “Straight down the middle” runs from Government House to the commissioners’ office but includes buildings close by.

The second tour “Round the edges” leads off from Lazy Corner and skirts around the bottom corner as far as Port Jack. Tour No 3 will eventually bring you to The Butt when it is complete.

Photographs and illustrations have been included, some are old and some are recent but we hope they illustrate the points raised for the benefit of the reader who is unable to visit and see for themselves.
