Onchan Horticultural Show
12th September 2009

The annual show organised by the Onchan Horticultural Society was held in the Youth and Community Centre, School Road on 12th September. Some of the classes were affected in the sudden change in weather at the end of August. An example of this was the total absence of sweet peas

There was a colourful but small entry in the dahlia section of three blooms.

Section 74 was for a collection of vegetables of any four distinct kinds.

The qualities of each vegetable coincided with the number set in the individual classes for those vegetables (i.e. 3 carrots, 4 potatoes, 3 leeks, 3 onions).

As usual there was stiff competition in the vegetable class

In the decorative section for flower arrangements one of the sections was "Reflections of Mann".

Other classes included "Seascapes", "Dahlia Delight", "Green with Envy" and a Basket Arrangement.
