Onchan Park
Open 11.00am to 6.30pm Seven Days a Week!
A sudden snow fall during the early hours of Friday 3rd March 2006
saw
Onchan Park covered in a blanket of snow.
Parks man Orry Lewin captured
the scene with his camera and we show a selection here.

Not a footprint in sight at the entrance to Onchan Park and the
blue
skies and the palm trees do nothing to portray the true temperature |
The boating lake looked different from its summertime appearance
and so
too with the lack of sound of the putt, putt of the motorboats -
just
silence without even birdsong. |
St. Anthony's Church on the right of this picture taken overlooking
the
miniature golf course and Douglas Bay beyond. |
No snow plough on the steam train as it stands in the Onchan Station. |
Two forlorn horses without a blade of grass in sight. |
During the Friday morning there were several flurries of snow and
here our
cameraman Orry has captured one such short snow shower. |
