Cheryl Killey Myers BA (Hons)

Library Assistant

Cheryl developed a love of reading as a child, becoming an avid reader at the Eastfield library in Scarborough. Cheryl has since worked at the Central Library in Halifax, and been a member of book groups at Whitby and Douglas libraries. She also worked as part of the team at both the Whitby Bookshop and the Bridge Bookshop, IOM. Cheryl has a degree in English Literature and was appointed Library Assistant at Onchan Library in 2020.

“Studying English Literature with the OU for five years introduced me to books I would never have picked up, and helped me to get my first article published online. Now I'm free to read for pleasure, I'm enjoying the experience of taking my time over discovering new authors. I am delighted to be working in the Harvey Briggs Onchan Library and am renovating my home, so I will finally fulfil my dream of having a home library in 2021.”
