Onchan General Byelaws
On the 1st August new Byelaws come into effect in Onchan and provide means by which the Board of Onchan District Commissioners can address issues which are causing a nuisance in the District.
The new Byelaws is the first revision for over 20 years and have been drafted following extensive consultation within the community. They address traditional issues such as excessive noise, touting and the playing of ball games in the street. In addition, they now address more modern nuisances for example the feeding of wild birds, the abandonment of shopping trolleys and excessive illumination by security lights.
A copy of the new Onchan General Byelaws 2017 is available on the Onchan District Commissioners website and copies are available from the Harvey Briggs Library.
Advice can be provided on the application of the byelaws by telephone on 675564.
