The Commissioners receive regular complaints about feeding of pigeons and gulls within the district.
Feeding pigeons and gulls in particular can cause nuisance, not just from the birds themselves but also by attracting other vermin to food which falls to the floor. Generally the advice given is that feeding these birds unbalances their natural numbers and can cause illness and restrict their ability to find natural feed stuff.
The Onchan District Byelaws also prohibit feeding birds in a manner which causes nuisance to others within the area.
