Your Onchan

About us:

The library’s a great place for finding out more about what’s happening in your local community.

Library Events

We hold a range of friendly and informal events, such as talks, readings, author visits and demonstrations. Please contact us if you would like to give a talk, put your work on display, make an author visit, or hold a workshop.

Onchan Book Group

Our book group meets on the first Thursday of each month. All book lovers welcome, and refreshments are served.

Craft & Chat

Regular Craft Workshops for adults are held throughout the year. Meet up with other craft lovers, learn new skills, or find inspiration. The library holds a brilliant range of arts and crafts titles too.

Visiting the Library

Local schools, nurseries, cub, brownies, beavers and rainbows are all welcome to visit the library. We are happy to help with Brownie Book Lover and Roald Dahl Challenge badges. Please contact us to make a booking.

Library Art & Displays

The library is also a space for creative or informative displays for the local community. If you, or your organisation, are interested in using the library for a display, please contact us.

The library borrows prints from the IOM Arts Council Loans Collection. Several works of art have also been donated by the local community over the years.

A painting of St Peters Church, Onchan, is now included in The Public Catalogue Foundation, a collection of oil paintings in public ownership in the UK.
