Nature Explorers

Manx Wildlife Trust’s Biodiversity Education Officer, Dawn Dickens, brought some of the great outdoors into Harvey Briggs Onchan Library for a Nature Explorers session recently. Children had an opportunity to see some watery bugs, leeches and a baby newt close up through magnifying glasses, and learn some amazing  facts about them all. They also enjoyed creating their own dragonflies.

The library team would like to thank Dawn Dickens for such an interesting and inspiring session, which was held as part of their Animal Agents Summer Reading Challenge for Onchan. All the specimens were carefully returned to their original location at Ballannette Nature Reserve, which is a great place for further exploration. Nature Explorers can also visit Manx Wildlife Trust’s Onchan Wetlands  - pick up a leaflet from the library and follow the trail.
