Younger Cadets learn first aid skills through training course for young people while older Cadets can undertake a community first aid or first aid at work course.

Cadets can put their first aid and other communication skills into practice by providing first aid to the public at events or teaching first aid to other young people and adults.

Please note that sometimes/most times the Douglas detachment stay open during school breaks, but this is a decision which is made by the Detachment Commander and cadets would be informed.

Parents to register the child's interest  in joining through the army cadets website.
The Cadets are open to boys and girls aged over 12 and in years 8 and above at school until 18th birthday. No subscription payable. Subsidised charge for camps and some other activities.

In addition the youth workers are available to talk informally to young people about issues that may effect them such as school and family relationships, drugs, alcohol, sex etc. 
This is a confidential and informal service.
