Onchan Elects New Chairman
Municipal Year 2020/21
The Authority is pleased to announce the results of their Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday 12th May 2020. Commissioner Derek Crellin in his 20th year of serving the people of Onchan will take over the reins from Commissioner Robin Turton. The incoming Chairman’s said:-
“The municipal year has the hallmark of being a challenging one and Onchan District Commissioners are well placed to serve the community. I thank my colleagues for electing me as Chairman and I look forward to working with them and also the Officers".
The Authority went on to elect Commissioner Martin Macfarlane as Vice-Chair and Lead Member for Finance and General Purposes. Commissioner Macfarlane said “I am delighted to be appointed Vice-Chairman for the forthcoming year and look forward to supporting the Chairman during these extraordinary times.”
