The Chairman of Onchan District Commissioners would like to make it clear that it has always been the case that any Member of the Authority may give their personal views on a subject matter, however, in accordance with Onchan District Commissioners Standing Orders and Social Media Policy, it must be made clear by the Member that they are speaking in a private capacity and should not give the impression, implied or otherwise, that they are speaking on behalf of the Authority. The information given out in the name of the Authority has, for obvious reasons, to be both accurate and factual in order to minimise any potential risk of liability.
The Chairman wishes to confirm that the Authority and its Officers have an excellent working relationship with the Isle of Man Constabulary and other multi-disciplinary agencies, which they wish to maintain for the benefit of the community.
