Hosepipe Ban

Hosepipe Ban came in to affect on 3rd August.

The latest information from the Met Office indicates the weather will continue to be drier than usual with any rain that does fall being held in the ground or evaporating so that there is no replenishment of the reservoirs. As a result, reservoir water stocks are in danger of becoming critically low if there is no significant rainfall over the next three months.

The introduction of the hosepipe ban will start to slow down the use of water, but the lack of forecasted rain is a serious concern and Manx Utilities continue to monitor the situation.

The Manx Utilities website features a series of helpful tips on how to use water wisely  in and around the home.
