Onchan Dog Control Byelaws

Following a joint investigation between Onchan District Commissioners, Ashley Hill Primary School and the Eastern Neighbourhood Police Team, a male has been issued with a fixed penalty notice and subsequently paid.

The male in question allowed his dog to foul in school grounds and failed to remove the faeces.  The offence was detected and the male identified through the use of CCTV at Ashley Hill School.

Onchan District Commissioners are keen to prevent further incidents of dog fouling and have recently published an updated version of the Onchan District Commissioners Onchan Dog Control Byelaws 2020 which will allow the Officers to issue fines.

A fixed penalty notice can only be issued when clear evidence is provided to the Officers so any assistance that the public can offer with evidence gathering is greatly appreciated and will help to combat the problem.
