Onchan District Commissioners are pleased to share that the planned external refurbishment works at Elm Tree House are now nearing completion.
The project has focused on modernising and enhancing the building’s appearance while addressing several structural and cosmetic defects. Works have included asbestos removal, concrete formwork repairs, replacement of selected windows and concrete cills, refurbishment and repainting of existing aluminium windows and doors, installation of new rainwater goods, soffit and fascia alterations, application of coloured render, new timber cladding, and decorative lighting.
In addition, the Authority has taken the opportunity to improve accessibility at the adjacent war memorial, with new step nosings and handrails now installed.
Thanks is extended to Cedar Developments Limited and their subcontractors, as well as to the Elm Tree House tenants for their cooperation during the works.
