It is with great sadness that Onchan District Commissioners have learned of the passing of former Commissioner George Waft.
Mr Waft served as a Member of the Board from 1971 to 1991, including serving as Chairman on two occasions.
Throughout his many years of service, Mr Waft made a significant contribution to the local community and to public life in Onchan.
Following his service as a Commissioner, he went on to represent Onchan in the House of Keys and later served as a Member of the Legislative Council.
The Commissioners and staff extend their sincere condolences to Mr Waft's family, friends, and all those who knew him at this difficult time.
