The Authority has recently received a number of inquiries regarding it's publicly accessible defibrillators.
Key facts about the defibrillators owed and maintained by the Authority
Located:
• Onchan Pleasure Park adjacent to the front of the OV Lounge and the Velo Café.
• The HUB adjacent to the front door.
• Main Road public toilets adjacent to he Manx Arms public house.
Inspections are undertaken and recorded by the Authority’s staff.
Weekly inspections include:
• Visual inspection of the cabinet externally and internally for issues such as damage and corrosion.
• Ensuring the power supply and internal light is functioning.
• Visual inspection that the battery life indicator is showing the battery is operational.
• Visual inspection that the pads and the first aid accessories are still in place and not used/require replacement.
Monthly inspections include all of the above, plus:
• Ensuring the cabinet and lock is functional and clean.
• Physical test of the defibrillator to ensure that it is operational.
Pads and batteries are replaced in advance of the expiry dates.
