Seal Appeal

Thank you so much to Dawn Dickens, Manx Wildlife Trust's Biodiversity Education Officer, for coming to Harvey Briggs Onchan Library to tell us all about seals. Dawn had some fascinating facts about how seals can sleep under water, and live to be 45 years old. She also explained why seals are so important to us, and ways you can get involved spotting them and helping to protect them.

We all had a lot of fun making seal masks, crafting little paper seals, and meeting Sammy the Seal! Dawn had kindly arranged the loan of him, especially for the event, and it gave everyone a rare opportunity to see a seal close up.

Manx Wildlife Trust's Seal Appeal Road Show is at the library until 28th April – all welcome to call in and see the display, with mini activities for children.
