Free Wi-Fi in Onchan

Following the opening of the Onchan Hub in April, Onchan District Commissioners have now extended the free community Wi-Fi to their offices at Hawthorn Villa, Harvey Briggs Onchan Library and Beech House.

The service is provided free of charge to users via a PC, laptop, tablet or mobile device. The service is both monitored and the content is filtered to prevent access to certain websites. Access to the service is limited to a maximum session of 60 minutes and the service is provided free of charge. Users should note that speed will depend on the number of users and the service may be unavailable when maintenance is carried out.

The Wi-Fi in Harvey Briggs Onchan Library allows visitors to bring their own enabled devices and provides computers for those who wish to access the internet.

In the next few weeks it is hoped that the community Wi-Fi network will be extended to sheltered housing at Springfield Court, Heywood Court and to Onchan Park.
