It was with great sadness that colleagues and Commissioners learned of the death of Joan Corran as the result of a road traffic accident on Tuesday 18th October. Joan was a valued member of the team at the Harvey Briggs Onchan Library, assisting with the many activities and functions held by the Library throughout the year, and supporting the regular Library staff when needed to help make the Library a welcoming and vibrant part of our community.
The Commissioners and officers attending their meeting on 31st October stood in silence for one minute at the start of business as a mark of respect to a colleague whose loss will be keenly felt. The Chairman of Onchan Commissioners, Mr. Robin Turton, extended the condolences of the Board to her family and friends.
