The Board Members of Onchan District Commissioners are pleased to assist 2 local Scouts with their endeavour to attend the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea this Summer. The Board granted the request for a donation towards the trip from the Onchan Youth Development Fund which was created to support young people from the District with their ventures.
In the photograph collecting the cheque from the Chair of Onchan District Commissioners, Kathryn Williams are Joey Hills, Fergus Weeks and Scout Leader Aleyn Taggart. Both Joey and Fergus are members of the Onchan District Explorer Scouts and will be attending the World Jamboree along with 7 other Scouts from across the Island.
The Manx Scouts will also join with Scouts from Cumbria and Guides from the North West to form a team of 48 in total that will be making the trip as a team.
