We receive many enquiries about the process for obtaining and objecting to planning applications. To aid your understanding we would like to offer the following information:-
This is a function of the Planning and Building Control Directorate of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFA) (not Onchan District Commissioners)
Onchan District Commissioners will receive a copy of all planning applications relevant to the Onchan District.
Information regarding making a planning application can be found at: Planning Applications.
All planning applications are published by the Planning and Building Control Directorate on their website, click public access to planning applications . Also a yellow notice should be displayed at the site.
Anyone wishing to view the proposals can do so by either:-
attending the Planning and Building Control Directorate, Murray House, Mount Havelock, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 2SF; or
attending the Onchan District Commissioners Offices, Hawthorn Villa, 79 Main Road, Onchan, IM3 1RD; or
