Allocation Procedure - Sheltered Housing

Allocation Procedure

When a flat does become vacant, a number of factors including the location of the empty property, the medical circumstances and living accommodation of the applicants are taken into consideration before a shortlist is made. Those applicants who are seen as most suited to the available property will be short-listed and will be invited to view it. They will be asked if they were to be offered the property, would they accept it as seen. If there is a problem, such as with accessibility or mobility, this would be the time to highlight it. At this stage, short-listed applicants should not consider the viewing as a firm offer, simply an opportunity for them to confirm their interest. An allocation will be made at political level by the Commissioners from the short-listed applicants.
